If you read that headline and thought, “what in the hell does that mean?” don’t worry, because here at Mandatory we’re always here to tell you all about important things happening in the world. One of those things? In Belgium you can drink inside of a butthole.
Folks in Belgium are being given quite the opportunity to drink wine inside of a hotel that has been designed to look like an anus. The hotel is called CasAnus Hotel. And not only is there an anus placed in the middle of a field, but there’s also some lower intestine, with a bar called BarRectum. And yes, I’m a college graduate that just wrote that sentence.
This is all thanks to Dutch artist Joep Van Lieshout, who created this hotel out of moulded fiberglass.
It was originally just a piece of art within the Verbeke Foundation Sculpture Park, but the addition of a shower, double bed, and a central heating system has turned it into a bizarre hotel. It’s no dump either. The inside is all bright white with modern looking fittings and nice things.
“After 10 years of organizing ‘classic’ wine tastings, often very boring for both wine producers and visitors, we started thinking of different ways of experimenting with wines,” Alice Boun, the event’s spokesperson, said.
The wine event’s Facebook page describes the event (which will take place on March 16th) as such:
“No more suitable place to present these refined wines in Belgium than in the unique setting of the Verbeke Foundation, one of the largest private initiatives for contemporary art in Europe.”
So if you happen to be in Belgium and you’re thinking of a place to take a girl for a first date, may I suggest drinking wine in a butt? May I also suggest you get back on Tinder once she blocks you?
