Odds are you’ll best recognize the name Don Gorske from the line, “Who in the hell is Don Gorske?”
According to CBS 58, Gorske is a 64-year-old Fond du Lac man who recently broke his own world record by officially eating his 30,000th McDonald’s Big Mac.
It’s one for the history books. He’s done it. Local folk hero Don Gorske has eaten his 30,000th Big Mac. Let the record show it took place 3:30pm at the Fond du Lac @McDonalds. He cautions this may be his last milestone, projecting 40,000 would come in 2032. #SuperSizeMe #WISN12 pic.twitter.com/4rJ5lTCYui

“When I had a Big Mac that was the best food I ever had,” Gorske said. “I knew I was going to be eating them every day.”
But it hasn’t been just one Big Mac a day since 1972 for Gorske. Hell, the dude had nine of them on his first day alone. Since then, he has only missed out on eating at least one Big Mac eight days in the last 46 years. One of those “abstinence” days came during a snowstorm so severe and within proximity to his local McDonald’s “restaurant” he couldn’t make it in. Another came on the day of his mother’s passing. She asked him to go without one as a form of remembrance.
Just how does Gorske know that he has eaten 30,000 Big Macs since 1972? You guessed it — He has saved every wrapper, receipt and bag as proof.
Perhaps even more surprising than the fact that Gorske still has a pulse is that he’s actually in pretty good shape. On top of finishing the San Diego marathon in 2006 with his 21,387th Big Mac in-hand, Gorske said that his cholesterol was low and his blood pressure “perfect” at his most recent health checkup.
