Terraria, the 2D world builder/RPG made with inspiration from games like Minecraft, has now been announced for the downloadable console platforms on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
The news comes by way of the game’s official Facebook page. Here’s how they dropped the bomb.
“Stop what you’re doing immediately – we have very important news – TERRARIA IS COMING TO XBLA & PSN WITH BRAND NEW CONTENT”
Personally, I can’t hear or read “stop what you’re doing” without instantly thinking of “The Humpty Dance.”
Of course, the news didn’t hit Facebook in an entirely positive light. PC fans insist that Terraria‘s console edition is relatively bogus. They cite the fact that the game’s creator promised much more than he delivered, and that they’re riding an unfinished product that shouldn’t be developed for other platforms until it’s completed.
They say all of that, except with a lot more vitriol. The frustration there is a bit loud, crude and odd. Hopefully the new console content will also launch on the PC platform.
Will you be getting Terraria for the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 when it launches? Or, will you stick with your PC edition?
