Yukon Gold Begins Production On Season 2

The popular HISTORY channel series “Yukon Gold” has begun production on season 2.

“Yukon Gold” follows four gold mining crews who have only four short months in Canada’s wild Yukon to earn one big payday, and with the price of gold hovering at record-breaking levels, a modern day gold fever is in the air. One good strike makes a man rich, while one bad season could put him in financial jeopardy. Facing a number of challenges, like battling mechanical breakdowns as well as the elements and working 18-hour days under the midnight sun, these competitive diehards have gold fever – and it keeps them coming back year after year for another chance to wager it all.

On the new season of “Yukon Gold,” the program will follow the up-and-down lives of the four viewer favourite gold mining crews from around Dawson City, Yukon: “Big” Al McGregor, Bernie Kreft, best friends Ken Foy and Guillaume Brodeur, and Karl Knutson. Remote film crews will be shooting from July until the season freeze-up in early October this year.

Look for season two on the HISTORY channel sometime in spring 2014.
