The Doctor provided a surprise news bulletin as I waited to board my flight back to the U.S. from London. I was in the UK for a travel story and to check up on the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary celebration.
I checked out the Doctor Who Experience in Cardiff, Wales – but didn’t suspect the country-wide, year-long party to reach London Heathrow. The BBC and airport representatives have arranged for Daleks to decorate the terminals and for Cyberman to march between the gates this summer as he UK continues to prepare for the official 50th birthday bash in November.
In case you’re wondering, yes – Cyberman also have to take their belts off to get through security.
