Mira Sorvino recently starred in a TNT pilot called “Trooper,” which did not get picked up. However, Sorvino is still coming to TNT in 2014.
According to Deadline, Sorvino has landed a recurring role on the upcoming fourth season of “Falling Skies” as Sara, a former graphic designer who joins the 2ND Mass after meeting John Pope (Colin Cunningham), with whom she develops “a strong personal bond.” That usually means “love interest.” Sara is also described as having been “dogged by death at every turn, yet she has never felt more alive, free or fearless.”
In 1996, Sorvino won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Mighty Aphrodite and she has appeared in numerous films including Mimic, Summer of Sam, Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, At First Sight, Perfect Sisters and Trade of Innocents. On television, Sorvino has appeared in “House,” “Will & Grace,” and the HBO TV movie Norma Jean & Marilyn.
“Falling Skies” Season 4 will premiere in Summer 2014 on TNT.
