Booze Squibs: New Amsterdam Coconut, Citron Vodkas Fight Off Winter

This introductory Booze Squib invites you to leave falling leaves and frosty pumpkins behind for the coconuts, lemons, limes, et. al. of summer drinking.

You shouldn’t wear white after Labor Day, but you can still drink like it’s the Fourth of July. New flavored vodka’s in the New Amsterdam line are locked in on that whole warm, tropical, summer breeze attitude with splashes of Coconut and Citron. We had a chance to sample the goods recently with a complete list of themed cocktail recipes and enough gins New Amsterdam gins and vodkas to play.

On the Coconut side, the New Amsterdam Coco Breeze offers light echoes of a Pina Colada, while The Perfect Gentlemen went down easy with a nod to an Almond Joy. For the Citron Vodka, the Ginger Zing took some work to put together  but the refreshing finish made it worthwhile. Meanwhile, the simplest and cleanest taste from the straightforward Citron and Soda.

All of the New Amsterdam spirits are available for about $25 per 1.75 liter bottle.
