‘Hannibal’ Season 2 Coming To NBC In Feburary

The first season of NBC’s “Hannibal” ended with a major reversal of fortune that found FBI special agent Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) imprisoned for the grisly series of murders committed by his “friend” and therapist, Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen). Now Will knows the truth about Hannibal, but will anyone listen to him?

The first teaser poster for “Hannibal” Season 2 (pictured above) hints that Will may not be leaving the asylum anytime soon. But that doesn’t mean that “Hannibal” won’t be making house calls early next year.

NBC has announced that “Hannibal” Season 2 will premiere on Friday, February 28. Originally, NBC’s midseason plan was to place its upcoming pirate series, “Crossbones” in “Dracula’s” 10pm timeslot on Fridays once the first season of its vampire drama ended. But apparently plans have changed, as “Hannibal” will move into that time period and “Crossbones” is currently without a premiere date.

“Hannibal” was adapted from Thomas Harris’ novels by TV veteran Bryan Fuller. Laurence Fishburne co-stars on the series alongside Dancy and Mikkelsen and supporting cast members Caroline Dhavernas and Hettienne Park.

It remains to be seen how “Hannibal” will perform in the traditional Friday death slot, but NBC’s “Grimm” has managed to pull in good ratings on that night for nearly three seasons. If “Hannibal” can pull in those kinds of numbers, it will have a much stronger chance of renewal.
