The Aussie Acts Playing At Coachella 2014

The highly anticipated Coachella Festival lineup arrived Thursday with the 2014 instalment featuring a number of Aussie acts.

Among the headliners at the double-weekend extravaganza in the Californian desert city of Indio are Outkast– reunited after having last released an album way back in 2006- Queens Of The Stone Age, Skrillex, Muse, Lorde, Pharrell Williams and Arcade Fire.

Amidst the ridiculous amount of A-grade talent appearing at the April festival are a six Australian exports.

Sydney producer Flume will share the opening Friday night with Outkast, Haim and AFI. The 22-year-old is coming off a stellar 2013 in which he released the highest selling Aussie album of the year and won a handful of ARIA awards, including best male and best newcomer.

Also on the bill are the relatively new faces of Jagwar Ma, who garnered a ton attention at home and in UK for their psychedelic infused electronic rock debut album Howlin’.

Relative unknowns The Preatures are following up an appearance at SXSW with another slot on a top US festival thanks, in part, to the successful throwback single ‘Is This How You Feel?’.

Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore will combine for an Empire Of The Sun appearance while home grown DJs Flight Facilities and Anna Lunoe also made the Coachella bill.

Any Aussies looking to make the 14th Coachella Festival will have to be quick- advance tickets are already gone while a small number of general admission passes will go sale Friday, Jan 10.

If you’d rather watch the festival from the comfort of your own home, Coachella was live streamed via YouTube last year and should be available again in 2014.
