SQUIB: a : a short humorous or satiric writing or speech; b : a short news item. (Merriam-Webster)
This Travel Squib proves that a department store can also serve as a bit of a museum.
Liberty London has been selling rare, upscale fashion and gift items in one form or another from Regent Street since 1875. While it sells men’s fashions and can clothe any guy from head to toe, the store might be most famous for its Liberty Paisley fabric patterns.
Legend has it that Liberty holds more than 30,000 fabric patterns, adding more every year and maintaining a library stretching back decades. Many of the most popular patterns for men and women are on display on the store’s ground floor amongst the Liberty scarves department. It’s still a status symbol to wear one of those scarves.
