I’m going to speak to you guys a little more one-on-one than usual in this post. How’s it goin’? I’m Nash, nice to meet you. Anyway… In my years with CraveOnline, myself and our videographers have had the opportunity to travel around the country and hang out at some of the coolest events you can imagine. From San Diego Comic Con to SXSW and the Super Bowl (twice) it’s been a diverse experience to say the least.
The one thing missing has been traveling abroad. We haven’t spent too much time overseas as a video team, but that recently changed. We were presented an opportunity to head across the Pacific to Australia for the Australian Open of Surfing. It didn’t take long for us to decide it was a good call, and we went for it!
The surf/skate open in Manly Beach was amazing. Beautiful beach, beautiful women, plenty of impressive surfing and skateboarding, and even though the rain spit on us a little bit on the last day, it didn’t slow down the fun everyone was having in Manly.
Aside from the Australian Open of Surfing, the opportunity to experience Sydney as a whole was really the highlight of the trip. We spent some time in the water surfing right beside the pros. I faced my fears and climbed a 450 foot tall bride over the Sydney Harbour! We even rode through the city on Harley’s. Crazy thing is, that’s just what we could get on camera! We didn’t have cameras at all the wonderful restaurants and bars that we visited which were equally as enjoyable as our other experiences.
All in all, the trip to Manly Beach in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia was an amazing experience and I can’t wait to go back to explore even more.
We were in Sydney for the whole week so be sure to check out all of CraveOnline’s coverage from the Hurley Australian Open of Surfing in Manly Beach.
Special thanks to Destination New South Wales for bringing CraveOnline to the Australian Open of Surfing at Manly Beach in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
