We told you about Marvel’s Original Sin event before, and this week, they’re sending us some teaser images about what kinds of secrets are going to get revealed when the Watcher is murdered and his eyes go missing.
For example – Captain America is going to find out that his friends in the Illuminati (Iron Man, Black Panther, Dr. Strange, Black Bolt, Namor and Beast) wiped his mind and made him forget about the incursion threat because he was being too idealistic. That goes down in Avengers #29.
“Everything that has been going on in Avengers and New Avengers virtually from the start has been building to this moment,” says Executive Editor Tom Brevoort. “Now, all the cards are on the table—and the fallout from the Illuminati’s decision to erase Cap’s memories is going to require everybody to choose a side. From this point forward, events will accelerate faster and faster towards a shattering and unexpected climax!”
Man, the heroes always gotta be fightin’ each other, don’t they?
Then, there’s Mighty Avengers, which had a teaser released today that looks to involve some 1970s style Shaft action, which might mean Luke Cage has been hiding something.

UPDATE: We’ve got more info on Mighty Avengers #11, and yes, we’ve officially reached the age where Luke Cage is no longer 1970s blaxploitation badass – that will be left to his father instead.
Here’s the official blurb, furthering the backstory between the Cage family and the Blue Marvel:
In 1972, Luke Cage’s father, NYPD Detective James Lucas joined forces with Blade, the Blue Marvel and an unlikely team of heroes to combat the undead menace of the Deathwalkers. Though they sacrificed everything to save the world, their struggles were kept a close guarded secret.
“The Deathwalkers plan to end the world is about to come to a terrifying head,” says writer Al Ewing. “So it’s a good time to ask if they’ve ever tried it before. And it turns out they have – in 1972. Luckily, there were six people around to stop them.” One only assumes that means the Splendiferous Spider Hero, aka Ronin, will have his secret identity revealed as well – odds remain on Blade.
