One of the more interesting superhero movies on the horizon isn’t really a superhero movie at all: it’s Sinister Six, a film about Spider-Man’s most famous villains. We still don’t know much about the film, other than it’s being written and directed by Drew Goddard (Cabin in the Woods). How does a movie about super villains work? Will it just be the six of them hanging out in The Bar With No Name swapping stories? Will it be a traditional superhero movie, but told from the villain’s perspective? And how much screen time will Spider-Man even have?
The answer to that last question, according to Amazing Spider-Man 2 star Andrew Garfield, is… immaterial?

“I know more than I’m allowed to say right now,” Andrew Garfield told the Toronto Sun while promoting his new drama 99 Homes at the Toronto International Film Festival. “I can say I’m really excited about Drew Goddard, who’s going to be writing and directing […] and whether I’m involved in that or not is kind of immaterial.”
While Garfield is trying to remain enigmatic about his involved in Sinister Six, citing the twists and turns of Cabin in the Woods as the reason he’s “not telling you shit” about Drew Goddard’s latest movie (well played, Garfield), it would appear that Spider-Man is definitely not the focus of Sinister Six and may not even need to make an appearance at all.
So what will Spider-Man’s greatest foes be doing in their own movie if not menacing Spider-Man? Or will Sinister Six keep Spider-Man around but just make him incidental to the plot? We guess we’ll find out when Sinister Six hits theaters on November 11, 2016, but color us intrigued here at CraveOnline. What do you think?
