It’s been three days since NetherRealm studios announced a “Kollector’s Edition” for Mortal Kombat X. In that time, PS4 users have bought out every single copy, Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon announced Feb. 6.

The collector’s edition contained a Scorpian statue, an in-game gold Scorpion skin and “The Kombat Pack” (four add-on playable characters from classic characters through to “guest characters,” a steel pack and steel card, and the first volume of Mortal Kombat X’s tie-in comic, all costing $179.99.

This even surprised Ed Boon, who later tweeted that this sold out much “faster than we anticipated.” If this is an indication of Mortal Kombat X‘s overall sales, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see this game compete for the most successful title of the year.
It looks like the regular Kollector’s Edition without the steel pack/card and the comic, priced at $150 is still available across all platforms, but we’ll see how long that will last. Mortal Kombat X will release on April 14, 2015 for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
