Considered by many to be the quintessential James Bond, Pierce Brosnan has his eye on a couple guys who he considers worthy of playing the role of MI6’s top operative once Daniel Craig is through.
While Mr. Craig is busy finishing up Spectre, not much is known how far his involvement with the franchise will extend past this entry. This will be his fourth foray in the franchise; Brosnan ended his run with exactly that many films (Goldeneye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World is Not Enough, Die Another Day).
That being said, Pierce made a point of noting that Idris Elba and Colin Salmon would be good choices to follow up Daniel Craig. Elba (The Wire) has denied that he was being sought for the role, and even took to Twitter at one point to playfully dismiss things, saying “Isn’t 007 supposed to be handsome? Glad you think I’ve got a shot! Happy New year people.”
It seems there has been no comment from Colin Salmon (Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, Thor: The Dark World, 28 Weeks Later) regarding future Bond casting. Perhaps Brosnan’s public opinion will encourage a response.
