Day One of Toronto Men’s Fashion Week (TOM*) Fall/Winter 2015 proved a roaring return to the runway. Menswear designers Keniya-X, Andrew Coimbra, Kollar Clothing, Garrison Bespoke, Just Ta by Alan Ta, and Joao Paulo Guedes showcased their collections.
Keniya-X presented a collection that was a camo-streetwear mix with urban influences, and major pieces included a printed jumpsuit, poncho, as well as mixed and matched oversized overcoats; Andrew Coimbra presented a beautiful grey scale collection with an emphasis on clean lines, with the standout piece being a paneled, tiered trench coat; Kollar Clothing offered a neutral palette of casual, cool streetwear.
Garrison Bespoke brought mens suits to the runway with impeccably tailored, amazing one-of-a-kind pieces, and standout pieces included printed blazers and sport coats, a crushed blue sapphire suit, and a gold-polka dot blazer; Just Ta by Alan Ta offered a look back with a period-piece theme of a medieval knight, renaissance inspiration; Emerging Menswear Design from Season 1 Joao Paulo Guedes returned to the TOM* stage with a collection inspired by the architecture of cathedral stained glass windows with beautiful, subtle prints in navy black and burgundy, and standout pieces included matching print-on-print overcoats and amazing hats by coupe de tete.
Last night, the featured shows included Venturist Commuter, Rank by Rani Kim, Men’s Fashion4Hope, Worth by David C. Wigley, and HD Homme.
