Sydney Roosters prop Martin Kennedy is reportedly set to be issued with an infraction notice from the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority, prompting a ban of up to two years.
Seven News has reported that ASADA is planning to issue Kennedy with the infraction notice as early as Wednesday, however Roosters CEO Brian Canavan has said that he is not aware of any move against Kennedy by the drugs watchdog, or by the NRL.
Kennedy has reportedly been under ASADA scrutiny since he was named in an investigation into Kennedy’s former teammate Sandor Earl, who was banned for four years in August 2013.

Kennedy returned to the Roosters this year, after relocating to Brisbane for the 2014 season. He is yet to play for the Roosters in 2015.
The NRL is expected to make a statement Wednesday afternoon.
UPDATE 18/03/15, 5.15pm: The NRL have released a statement confirming that Kennedy has been issued with a “Notice of Alleged Anti-Doping Rule Violations”. The notice alleges that Kennedy breached the the league’s Anti-Doping policy “through the possession and attempted use of banned substances”.
The NRL also advised that they will not make further comment until Kennedy has had the opportunity to respond to the notice.
