Celebrated comedian and podcaster Marc Maron has announced he will tour Australia this October, playing a string of dates in some of the nation’s most prestigious venues.
Maron will take the stage at Sydney’s State Theatre on October 15th, Melbourne’s Palais Theatre on Friday October 16th and Brisbane’s City Hall on October 17th.
Maron has been a mainstay on the standup scene for more than 20 years but permeated the public consciousness even more with his WTF podcast, which averages 4 million downloads each month since its inception in 2009.
The podcast has featured personal monologues as well as interviews with iconic personalities, from Louis CK, Robin Williams, Laura Jane Grace, Thom Yorke, Dave Grohl, Australian comedian Jim Jeffries and most recently a paradigm shifting interview with sitting US President Barack Obama.
Maron has also conquered the small screen with his critically acclaimed half-hour scripted series Maron. Created, written, and produced by Maron himself, the series can currently be found on ABC2, while his latest special, Thinky Pain, came to Netflix Australia in 2015.
