In somewhat strange news today it seems that Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst might be “Rollin” out of his current digs as he considers relocating to Crimea. Durst, who’s wife Kseniya Beryazina is a native of the region, is answering the call by local authorities welcoming western celebrities to the country in return for international promotional opportunities. No word yet on whether the “Nookie” played a role in his decision.
Despite the country’s recent annexation by the Russian Federation in the wake of the 2014 Ukrainian revolution, Crimean leader Sergey Aksyonov has promised to turn the Black Sea peninsular region into “the new Beverly Hills” with Durst seemingly the first “celebrity” to “Take A Look Around”.
According to Russian paper Izvestia (via Billboard) Durst contacted Crimean authorities via letter, expressing an interest in spending 6 months of the year in the country, as well as producing film and TV series to aid the entertainment industry. He also made clear that he hopes to help build and take part in the “great future of Crimea and Russia,” apparently offering to help in “My Way”.
With a Limp Bizkit tour through Russia planned later this month, Durst looks to be spending more and more time in Russia. Add to this the fact that in a recent radio interview he mentioned he was interested in obtaining a Russian passport and it that he may have been considering the move for a while… possibly from “Behind Blue Eyes.”
