In the ideal world of a con artist, every mark is a complete idiot. Unfortunately for this online grifter, his victim wasn’t just another rube to be be easily taken advantage of. In fact, the would-be chump even manages to turn the tables on the whole situation.
For those uncertain of what’s going on in the following texts, basically the scheme works like this: a supposed buyer sends the seller a fake check/money order for more than the actual agreed upon price. Rather than simply canceling that check and writing another, the buyer asks the seller to send him the balance back while the check clears. This usually takes a day or two. Once it’s discovered that the check was fraudulent, the scammer has already made off with your hard-earned cash. But not this dude. Check out how he drove the scam artist to run for his life.
