Look, we don’t know why you’ll need a shortcut for coring an apple. Perhaps you want to win first place in an Apple Pie Baking Competition or maybe you just have a kid. Either way, a real man knows how to core an apple even if he doesn’t know why he needs to know. This genius shortcut from TikTok user @rominagafur will make things like meal prep easier than ever. Most importantly, it will give you the answer to a problem you haven’t even had to deal with and that’s all we care about here… preventing problems before they start.

What You’ll Need
- An apple
- A Wing Corkscrew
If you’re going to be coring an apple, you’re going to need one. We prefer Pink Ladies, but a lovely Granny Smith, Golden Delicious or Honeycrisp would also work. Next, you’ll need to wash your fruit. In case no one has ever explained this to you, most fresh fruits and veggies can be gently scrubbed under cold running water. We recommend using a clean soft brush for produce with firmer skin. When that’s done, dry off your fruit with a clean rag.
Then, you’re going to want to take your clean, dried apple and stick the tip of the corkscrew into the top of the apple. Twist the corkscrew just like you’re opening a bottle of wine. When you hit the button, pull down the wings and the core will pop out. Just. Like. Magic.
