Ever wondered what Futurama would look like if it was animated in 3D? Well you’re in luck, because artist and Vimeo user Seccovan has given us a glimpse at what a CGI New New York could potentially look like, and the results are amazing.
Taking its cues from Futurama‘s opening credits sequence, the clip shows the Planet Express flying above the city which has been painstakingly rendered in gorgeous 3D using 3dsmax, Nuke, Photoshop and After Effects software.
Seccovan also provided viewers a closer look at the detail of the Planet Express ship itself, which you can view below.
While this animator is in no way affiliated with the TV show, we can but dream that the series’ creator Matt Groening will see his wonderful work and decide to take him on board. With that being said, we can’t help but feel that a detailed 3D render of Leela, Bender & co. would look terrifying, but we’d still love to know what it’d look like.
