Easy Recipe for Baked Mac n’ Cheese with Ham

If you’ve noticed, there’s always one all-purpose food any kid will eat when their parents are desperate to get them fed. That’s Macaroni and Cheese. And, that’s the case because it’s one of the all-time great, All-American foods. In fact, if you know of any people who don’t like Mac n’ Cheese, get away from them. They are zombies or vampires.

Baked Macaroni and Cheese with Ham

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ham cubed
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 lb velveeta cubed
  • 8 oz shredded sharp cheddar
  • 2 cups cooked elbow macaroni
  • 2 tbsp bread crumbs

Preparation: Melt 3 Tbsp of the butter in large saucepan. Blend in flour and salt. Cook and stir for 1 minute. Gradually add milk and cook, stirring until thickened.

Add Velveeta and 1 1/2 cup shredded cheese. Stir until melted. Stir in macaroni and ham. Pour into 1 1/2 quart buttered Casserole dish.

Melt remaining butter and toss with bread crumbs. Sprinkle with remaining 2/2 cup shredded cheese and breadcrumbs.

Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes until bubbly. Serve.
