Milan Collections | Prada S/S16

Miuccia Prada’s spring summer 2016 collection is youthful, fun, and spirited. It transported the audience back to a time of childhood innocence.  People reminisced about trying to catch the bus in the morning with their playfully printed clothes. The mix of men and women in the show felt like another day at elementary school.

Like childhood, Prada included prints of bunnies, racecars, and rocketships within knitted sweaters. And just like your mother trying to keep your shirt tucked, models walked the runway in outfits that seemed to be put together before heading to class.

These printed sweaters and outfits were designed with neutrals like bronze, olives, mustard, burnt orange, and pops of cobalt, teal, bright orange, and neon red. These colors helped the clothes “grow up” with deconstructed trench coats, white piping in blazers, and leather zip-up jackets.

All the clothes seemed to be slightly oversized, and, paired with double layer socks, allowed the clothes to maintain a sense of juvenescence.

So if you are looking to stay young but fashionable, Prada is the answer.
