Menswear label, N-p-Elliott recently debuted his fifth collection, “No Way” for the Spring/Summer 2016 season. The collection takes inspiration from Elliott’s childhood and is influenced by film and TV, along with his love of science fiction and animation. True to his signature androgynous aesthetic, the new collection remains gender-fluid once again, an exploration of the designer’s fascination with how styles become masculine and feminine over time.
An evolution from past seasons, the Spring/Summer 2016 collection presents a color palette influenced by 90’s fashion, which in itself, was reinventing the 70’s. Dusty Pink, Slate Blue, Mustard Yellow, Bottle Green, Black and dark shiny vinyls prevail throughout the collection that feels futuristic and retro at once.

Signature items for daily wear like loose t-shirts and black jeans create a solid base to build off, with more unique outerwear pieces introduced for the season, which make the final statement on an N-p-Elliott look. Pieces like the Mission Hooded Top in ultra-suede and washed denim along with the Ultra-Suede Cowboy Shirt, available in an array of colors, make for perfect transitional items from winter to spring. Meanwhile, bolder items like the Yves Shawl Jacket, designed with metallic brocade and silk faille, make the final stand out statement within the collection.
Moving inan environmentally conscious direction, N-p-Elliott has foregone the use of leather and any products that cause harm to animals and the environment this season. Instead of suede and leather, Elliott incorporated ultra-suede and vinyl into the collection, which leave a much smaller ecological footprint than the alternative. Additional materials used included the finest textiles from Japan, Italy, Korea and the UK including cotton, corduroy, and silk.
All collections created by N-p-Elliott are crafted by highly trained artisans with the utmost attention to detail in the USA and Europe. It is at the core of the brand’s mission to produce all pieces under ethical standards, and the company aims to ensure that only fair labor is used in the production of its materials. Prices for the N-p-Elliott Spring/Summer 2016 collection range from $180 – $1,610.
