Worlds clearly collided with the unveiling of the Hermès Apple Watch last summer. Who could have imagined that one of the standard bearers of luxury fashion and one of the leaders in tech would collaborate on a smartwatch? Yet, just last week Wallpaper* magazine awarded the Apple Watch Hermès the title of “Life Enhancer Of the Year.” That’s because the collaboration is simply one of the more beautifully imagined smartwatches of the year.
Hermès makes itself a lot more accessible to the public by adding a much more affordable timepiece to its lookbook. The starting price? $1,100. (Yes, it’s the least expensive watch Hermés has to offer). And Apple raises its stock by pairing with a fashion giant with no equal. The result is what both brands like to refer to as “parallel thinking”: a watch that merges classic men’s luxury (the Hermès’ touch) with modern day functionality (Apple innovation).

The “Double Tour” version watch boasts an extra long band that wraps around your wrist twice and comes in a 38mm stainless steel case. For the “Cuff” version, Hermès has drawn inspiration from the equestrian world, rendering a fitted leather cuff that allows the heart rate sensor to record accurate readings. The”Single Tour” version offers a 38 and 42 mm stainless steel case, and you can customize the watch face to suit your style with three different numeral designs that will give you date, time, stopwatch and world clock.
The Hermès Apple Watch is out now and available in both your Apple and Hermès stores. Where you choose to buy yours is simply a question of whether you’re shopping upmarket clothing or high-end tech.
