No one mixes athletic looks with luxury better than Tomas Maier for Bottega Veneta but for the Fall 2016 collection, he took a different stance. There’s no denying that athleisure looks are a dime a dozen now, and that doesn’t take away from its cool factor, but how do you find a way to breath life into a new idea, a trend that Bottega Veneta was one of the first to establish? Dress up the guy and show him how to be dapper yet cool at the same damn time.

From leather and hats to scarves and bags, the Bottega Veneta man is now one who is fit, tall and lean and doesn’t mind being in the spotlight. The fall collection has statement pieces that not only look chic but can classically be worn for years to come. The pants were one of the most surprising aspects of the show. While most menswear brands are squarely focused on ankle length pants, (yes even for fall/winter) Maier shows a complete collection of long pants. Let’s just say that are appropriate in length and add to the vertically accentuated silhouette. The fit is still lean and with his use of traditionally basic colors, if you’re 5’10 or taller you can rock these looks and potentially be mistaken for one of the Bottega Veneta models yourself. Hey, a little wishful thinking never hurt anyone.

As you preview the collection, take special note to the leather coats presented. Who wouldn’t want a black leather parka, coat or leather pants with an expansive zipper that rips down the front of both legs? You gotta be a pretty cool fella to pull those babies off. The use of cashmere, velvet and plaid prints was the perfect sprinkling of mixed fashion media.
