David Cameron is facing a lot of pressure to step down as Prime Minister this week, after it was revealed that he had owned shares in an offshore trust set up by his late father.
Cameron made the admission during an interview with Robert Peston, saying that he sold the shares in 2010, though had paid UK taxes on the £30,000 sale. However, this has now seen many requesting that he reveal his taxes to the general public, with him having been accused of hypocrisy after his insistence that the government would cut down on tax evasion. Soon, #ResignCameron became the top trending topic in the UK, with many weighing in on the debate… including the popular Netflix show House of Cards.
The Netflix Original revolves around the misdeeds of the morally corrupt politician Frank Underwood, with the David Cameron controversy not being lost on those who run the show’s official Twitter account:

But it was the account’s second tweet, posted after they’d done some digging into Cameron’s earlier posts on the site, that hit the nail square on the head:

Cameron has yet to respond to the calls for him to resign, though Labour have added pressure onto the Prime Minister to detail his interests following the Panama Papers leaks, with even Edward Snowden calling upon the UK to rally against him.
