It was way too quiet on the teacher/student hookup front, so of course high school teacher Dori Myers decided to change all that. The 29-year-old, a teacher at the New School for Leadership and the Arts in Kingsbridge, was recently arrested after she was accused of performing oral sex on a 14-year-old student — charges that she has since denied.
It all kicked off after the victim told a classmate about the hookup. The classmate then told the principal and the investigation kicked off.
Oh, and Myers is married to a dude who works in law enforcement, so that’s awkward. Myers has pleaded not guilty to a single count each of criminal sexual act and endangering the welfare of a child. But here’s what her defense lawyer, Andrew Stoll had to say about the accusations:
“My understanding is she’s a really outstanding teacher. It sounds like no good deed goes unpunished. You reach out to make yourself available to kids, and the next thing you know, a single accusation can destroy your career.”
Myers was hit with a 30-day order of protection requiring her to steer clear of the victim. She has also been “reassigned away from students,” according to Department of Education spokesman Doug Cohen, and Myers has also pulled down all of her social media accounts.
