YouTube has unveiled a new feature that will let all content creators on the site add 3-second introductory clips to every single one of their videos.
YouTube has informed content creators of the three steps they must take in order to set up the new feature. They are as follows:
- Upload the three-second intro video you’d like to use to your channel as an unlisted video.
- On your channel’s InVideo Programming page, click “Add a channel branding intro” and select the intro from a list of eligible videos.
- Select which videos you want the intro to appear on. You can choose whether to add it to all of your videos, or just the ones you’ve uploaded after a certain date. You can always remove or change the intro later.
YouTube hopes that the new introductory videos will allow its content creators to “more easily build a consistent brand” that their fans will recognize.
For a while now YouTube creators have been manually inserting their own introductory clips at the beginning of their videos, so this will come as a welcome new feature.
