‘Brockmire’ Is A Home Run For IFC, Baseball Fans

An inappropriate announcer? Check.

Sex appeal? Check.

Alcohol? Check.

A ridiculous circus-like baseball team? Check.

Brockmire has the all elements to be a potential all-time comedy. The proof is already in the pudding.

The new IFC show has racked up two million digital views this past week before it officially debuts on television Wednesday night. Created with Funny or Die, the show follows a legendary baseball broadcaster who undergoes a legendary on-air meltdown that essentially bans him from the sport. Hilarity ensues before a minor league baseball team owner (Amanda Peet) hires him to commentate her ‘Frackers,’ in an attempt for a career comeback.

If you’re any kind of a sports fan and haven’t seen the premiere episode yet, do yourself a favor and watch below. It’s a home run and we cannot wait to see how the rest of the season plays out.

Brockmire premieres on IFC on Wednesday, April 5 at 10PM. After the first episode, all remaining episodes will be available online, on demand and via mobile the morning after their linear premiere.
