Hugh Hefner’s Son Defends Dad Ahead of New Docuseries, Still Winning Stiffest Competition For Best Dad Ever

There’s nothing like a close father-son relationship to warm the heart on a winter’s day. Especially when the dad buys his son a matching robe and makes his guests go down on the family dog. Such are the untold stories of Hugh Hefner coming to light in a new docuseries alleging that the Big Bunny himself may have been an abusive chauvinist.

Shocker.

A&E, the cable channel best known for Storage Wars and Ghost Hunters is turning its gaze to the world of Hugh in Secrets of Playboy, a ten-part series airing now. And four episodes in, the anecdotes are not looking great for Heff.

Yet while former bunnies describe a “cult-like” environment filled with sexually offensive and despicable behavior, the recipient of Hefner’s Y chromosome is having none of it. Son Cooper Hefner jumped to his father’s defense in a tweet: “Some may not approve of the life my Dad chose, but my father was not a liar.”

Um, sorry Cooper, but no one is accusing your dad of being a liar. They’re accusing him of being a misogynistic, depraved pervert who used his publishing empire to control the women in his orbit.

In all fairness, Cooper’s dad was born before the dinosaurs, around the time manners were invented so obviously, fast-forward to now and Playboy has all but disowned its founder.

Today’s Playboy is not Hugh Hefner’s Playboy….As a brand with sex-positivity at its core, we believe safety, security, and accountability are paramount. The most important thing we can do right now is actively listen and learn from their experiences.”

Perhaps if Hefner could see what’s become of his nudie mag he’d be rolling over in his grave. But first – and not to be a stick in the mud – the Viagra would have to wear off.
