Brisbane’s Violent Soho re-emerged recently with a new single and three sold-out shows after a three year break between LPs, but are back in full force, announcing a national tour in support on their upcoming album.
The band’s third LP, Hungry Ghost, is due September 6 and will be followed by a seven-stop national tour to visit Byron Bay, Sydney, Brisbane, Fremantle, Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne in October and November.
Hungry Ghost was produced by Bryce Moorhead, “one of the greatest, most underrated producers in Australia… Brisbane’s Steve Albini,” says the band, and was mixed John Agnello (Dinosaur Jr, Sonic Youth, The Hold Study) at New York’s Fluxivity Recordings.
“Three years of writing and throwing out song after song, we finally got something we are happy with and proud to release,” the band said of their five-month recording binge in a recent interview FasterLouder.
Last year’s Tinderbox/Neighbour Neighbour EP garnered the boys national recognition while new single ‘In The Aisle’ has received some significant airtime on influential broadcaster Triple J.
