There will be no Gimme Chocolate at Soundwave 2016.
J-pop-metal fans across Australia will be saddened to learn that Babymetal are not going to be playing the festival.
Promoter AJ Maddah confirmed the disappointing news on Twitter overnight, but also delivered it with a silver lining:
Disappointed that we couldn’t make Baby Metal work for #SW16; but relieved to finally have certainty and a complete line-up.

Now that the lineup has been 100% locked in, that should mean the full announcement is now imminent.
Maddah had previously revealed that he was waiting for confirmation to lock in the primary schooler-fronted heavy metal act on the 2016 bill, which was one of the main things delaying the big lineup unveil.
But now that they’ve been scratched out, the lineup could literally drop any second.
