In a story that sounds like it was scripted exclusively for a Disney movie, a girl was recently found living with Monkeys in a forest in India.
According to a story from The Associated Press, the girl was found back in January when spotted in the forest by woodcutters, who found her without clothes, extremely skinny and surrounded by monkeys. Police said when the woodcutters tried to rescue the girl, the monkeys went into protective mama mode and chased away anyone trying to get close to the girl like some damn Planet of the Apes type of madness. Wild.
A Young Girl Was Found Living With Monkeys in a Forest
Ultimately, an officer was able to collect the girl and put her in his car, but not without the monkeys chasing him down like the cop stole something from them, which, come to think of it, is probably exactly how they felt about the whole thing.
“She is still not able to speak,” Singh told the AP of the girl, who is estimated to be 10 to 12 years old. “But understands whatever you tell her and even smiles.”
Singh added that she acted like an animal and even ran around on her arms. And as for food, she ate it straight off the floor.
Police have been trying to comb their missing-children records to determine who the girl is, as well as find out who her parents might be. Nobody knows at this point how or why she was in the forest and mobbing with monkeys, but, damn, sounds like she was rolling deep with the primate squad.
