Well, shit.
Everyone swears. Well, everyone should enjoy dropping a few swear words here and there because it feels damn good to swear sometimes. Just ask 18-year-old Jared Dylan Smith, who decided to drop the F-bomb near a 75-year-old woman. But unfortunately for Smith, it goes him arrested. I know, I know, let us explain.
Smith allegedly said the word ‘f*ck’ near the senior citizen, and was then arrested and charged for disturbing the peace. Um, what? According to Smith’s arrest report: “While standing next to my 75-year-old complainant, Jared yelled the word ‘f***’ and clearly disturbed her peace.”

Smith has denied the allegation, but was still tossed into the Ouachita Correctional Center with his bond set at $200. And here’s the even crazier part. If Smith is found guilty of “disturbing the peace,” he may serve up to 90 days in prison. 90 damn days for dropping the F-bomb near some old lady.
And if you’re interested, here’s how Louisiana law defines “disturbing the peace” as:
“Addressing any offensive, derisive, or annoying words to any other person who is lawfully in any street, or other public place;
Or call him by any offensive or derisive name, or make any noise or exclamation in his presence and hearing with the intent to deride, offend, or annoy him, or to prevent him from pursuing his lawful business, occupation, or duty.”
Well, fiddlesticks.
