Remember how last Christmas some folks were upset at the hipster nativity scene? Well a British bakery has one-up that as they took it upon themselves to replace baby Jesus with a sausage roll. And let’s just say that some folks aren’t too happy.
Have a look at the tweet below to check it out:
Please boycott @GreggsOfficial to protest against its sick anti-Christian Advent Calendar. What cowards these people are: we all know that they would never dare insult other religions! They should donate every penny of their profits to @salvationarmyuk https://t.co/tAV7CRP7WM

Here’s a closer look:

The bakery behind this is called Greggs, a bakery chain with more than 1,800 locations, and they released this photo as part of their Advent calendar which includes coupons and other holiday images. But it was this image that irked people.
Offended, yes. As a christian, they’ve depicted my Lord and Saviour as a sausage roll. Makes me sad in fact that today we openly mock people’s faith.

The U.K. Evangelical Alliance told BBC Money that it wasn’t “too outraged” by the sausage as baby Jesus, but was concerned about the holiday being used for marketing.
“Every year some company creates a Christmas controversy for commercial gain. It seems to get earlier each year,” spokesman Daniel Webster told the network. “That’s the scandal that should be talked about this Christmas, not processed outrage to sell processed food.”
Greggs also apologized for the chaos it caused:
“We’re really sorry to have caused any offense, this was never our intention,” the company said.
Although a lot of folks found some humor in all of this:
I am a Christian and this just makes me want a sausage roll. Lighten up, eh?

How flimsy is your religious belief if it’s rocked by a sausage roll? #Greggs

All hail sausage.
