Burglary isn’t funny. Well, it’s usually not supposed to be. But what happens when police release a e-fit of a burglary suspect that looks like it was meant to be a joke but isn’t? Well, you do what Twitter did and you laugh at them.

It all kicked off when Warwickshire police decided to release an e-fit of a burglary suspect. An e-fit is an electronic picture of the face of a person being sought out by police. The suspect is wanted by police in connection with a distraction burglary. According to The Guardian, two men claiming to be from Orbit Housing tricked their way into a woman’s apartment. While one of them distracted the woman, the other searched the property and stole some cash. The woman then told the men to leave when she realized they were stealing money.

So that’s pretty shitty. But the hilarious part about this? This tweet:

Holy hell, what a nightmare. And for those thinking it was a joke, police made it clear that it isn’t.

Well that follow-up tweet did not encourage Twitter to ease up on the laugher as the jokes poured in. Check out some of the best below:

Makes sense: British Guy Surrenders To Police Just So They Can Take Unflattering Mugshot Off Facebook

Well, at least police got everyone talking about this guy, so eyes will be more peeled for a man who looks like he’s trying really hard to become the next Joker. But no shocker here, this guy hasn’t been caught yet. And something tells me he’s as elated as he looks in that photo.
