People are handling the current COVID-19 crisis differently. Some of us are doing the responsible and staying home, only leaving the confines of our homes for the utmost essentials. Others still can’t seem to grasp the concept of social distancing, believing it only applies to other people — those who aren’t there to party. And then, there are the people in the middle. These people mean well but they’re not exactly the sharpest knives in the drawer.
Cases in point are the following photos that showcase a handful of inventive (if not-well-thought-out) DIY masks that Americans are proudly wearing as they do their shopping. Now, we’re not scientists, nor do we claim to be (only our president thinks he knows more about science than those who have spent their lives studying science), but we’re not sure that these masks actually protect anybody from anything. Still, these people mean well, so we’ll give them the benefit of the doubt.
