Meanwhile in Hawaii: Anti-Vaxxer’s DIY Project Backfires For All to See (And Laugh At)

Hawaii is such a vision of paradise that most people who visit never want to leave. Now, one woman may just get her wish after police caught her red-handed (and red-faced) trying to pass through town with a fake vaccine card.

Chloe Mrozak was visiting Honolulu from her hometown of Oak Lawn, Illinois when authorities noticed something odd about the vaccine card she’d uploaded to the state’s website. Turns out Mrozak, who claimed to have been fully inoculated, got two shots of a vaccine called “Maderna,” whose side effects may include jail time, community service, a $5,000 fine, and shitting yourself from embarrassment.

Despite being flagged upon her arrival, the airport staff let Mrozak through. But when they double-checked the Delaware location where the 24-year-old claimed to have been vaccinated along with the address of her hotel, they realized Mrozak was the worst conman to ever hit the shores of Oahu.

The weird thing is, all you have to do is provide a negative PCR test to avoid Hawaii’s mandatory quarantine period of ten days. Meaning Mrozak either decided to travel while Covid-positive or she’s just that lazy. (Though forging documents and ducking law enforcement on a daily basis sounds at least as exhausting as having someone stick a giant Q-tip up your nose.)

After ghosting law enforcement for her entire six-day vacation, authorities finally caught up with her at the airport for her flight home. They were able to identify the bikini-clad genius (who totally thought she’d gotten away with it) from a distinctive rib tattoo they’d found on her Facebook page. (Should have gone with the sweater Clo.)

Now the lucky lady is calling Hawaii home as she awaits her trial and faces up to one year in prison. Though her bail is set at a scant $2,000, reports indicate the bond has not yet been paid.

Yeah. It’s probably for the best Mrozak cools her heels in a wifi-less jail for a few weeks while the internet gets this one out of its system. In the meantime, Mrozak can think of a new identity to assume after this whole thing blows over. After all, she is a master forger.
