The director of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Marc Webb confirmed Monday, via a report on Crave’s ComicBookMovie.com, that B.J. Novak is playing Alistair Smythe in his film.
Smythe, famously, was a wheelchair-bound man in the comic continuum who became the Spider Slayer to avenge the death of his father on the two people he thought responsible: J. Jonah Jameson and Spider-Man. Not sure if that transformation will occur in this or the two other planned Spider-Man films. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens May 2.
