AB De Villiers Smashes Fastest Ever 150

On Friday at the SCG during a Pool B match of the 2015 World Cup, AB De Villiers hit the fastest ever 150 run innings from only 64 balls.

It was less than a month ago when the dynamic South African captain smashed the fastest ever hundred from 31-balls against the West Indies in Johannesburg.

AB De Villiers hit 17 boundaries and 8 whopping sixes before a stunned Sydney crowd. De Villiers’ total elevated South Africa to 5/408, the highest ODI score posted in Australia.

The immaculate innings of 163* from 66 balls turned the innings into South Africa’s favour after a slow start. Sitting on 149 from the first 30 overs, De Villiers helped himself to his third ODI century against the Windies in a World Cup match.

In the last 110 balls batting against the West Indies, De Villiers has hit 311 runs. A devastating statistic that encapsulates the Caribbean Kings’ performance in the 2015 World Cup

“It was a very enjoyable knock today. The foundation from the boys at the start freed me up. I had a bit of luck here and there,” commented De Villiers after the match, understating his outrageously impressive stroke-play.

De Villiers now holds the fastest ever One Day International 50 (16), 100 (31) and 150 (64) records.

South Africa play the unpredictable Irish in their next match, while the West Indies face another tough opponent in India.
