I have never had a sexual experience with a robot because I’ve seen way too many movies featuring robots to know that would end with me being murdered by my metal lover. But sex robots are becoming a big deal, and one man believes that is not a good thing.
According to Metro, Noel Sharkey of the Foundation of Responsible Robotics is worried that these horny machines could “change humanity completely” by making sex “too easy.” The doc, titled Sex Robots and Us, includes Sharkey saying this:
“We’re just doing all this stuff with machines because we can, and not really thinking how this could change humanity completely. Some people have suggested that sex robots create an attitude of ‘too-easy’ sex which is always available. This could take meaning out of our lives and turn us into zombies.”

Last year, a scientific study found that a quarter of millennials admitted they would be happy having a sexual relationship with a robot. In a study conducted by Paris-based Havas, 27% of 18-34 year olds would form a relationship with a robot.
Last month, academics suggested that we would soon see the rise of ‘digisexuals’ – who will identify as machine-lovers, and will opt for relationships with machines over human beings. “There is no question that sexbots are coming. People will form an intense connection with their robot companions,” said Dr Neil McArthur of the University of Manitoba
“These robots will be tailor-made to meet people’s desires and will do things that human partners cannot or will not do. ‘As these technologies advance, their adoption will grow and many people will come to identify themselves as ‘digisexuals’ – people whose primary sexual identity comes through the use of technology.”
So in a nutshell, Sharkey is afraid people will prefer humping a piece of metal than a human — he’s afraid human connection will be lost. Um, has this guy ever taken a walk outside? Everyon has their face buried into their phones and devices and ignoring everyone. Hell, people prefer working remotely these days simply to avoid nightmarish coworkers.
Welp: So There’s A Fear Sex Robots Can Be Hacked And Programmed To Kill Us All
So would having a stronger connection to a machine than a human really change much from what’s going on currently? No. The only difference is you’ll be able to shack up with that hunk of junk.
