Hey, he should be thankful he didn’t have his penis amputated like this poor dude.
Let’s all talk about 32-year-old Dustin Lance, a prisoner, jailed for burglary and possession of a controlled dangerous substance, who suffered an erection for at least four days after he took a pill he got from another prisoner. Lance reveals he was in “unbearable pain” and he suffered permanent damage to his junk.
And according to Lance he was denied medical treatment as jail staff instead mocked and laughed at him. And now because of all this Lance is suing the jail staff at Pittsburg County Jail in McAlester, Oklahoma, for $5 million.
He was transferred to a health centre on the 19th but had already suffered permanent damage, the lawsuit says. Doctors were unable to treat Lance’s penis and ‘told defendants the plaintiff needed to be seen by a urologist specialist’ immediately.
But deputies reportedly took him back to jail to organize a recognizance bond and ‘further delayed the treatment’ for him. He was released later the same day and the charges against him were dismissed two months later in February. Lance is seeking $5 million damages and names Pittsburg County Sheriff Chris Morris, the Pittsburg County Board of County Commissioners, and three deputies among the defendants. Others include a nurse and 10 employees of the Sheriff’s Office.
Here’s what Morris had to say about all this:
“If our inmates need medical care, we give it to them,” although he can’t remember if Lance’s issue was brought to his attention.
My guess? It was, but he was too busy laughing to do anything about it. So obtuse!
