It’s hard to get a decent education when you’re surrounded by absolute morons, and that’s something the students at Oberlin High School learned about themselves last week.
According to The Times-Picayune, two students were working together on a math problem when one of the them made the observation that a symbol looked a hell of a lot like a gun. Now enter the large group of morons into the equation, and that simple observation turned into a student supposedly making the threat of a mass shooting.
No seriously, that actually happened.
“The students were working together, and a student made a math symbol of a square root sign, which kind of looks like a pistol,” Allen Parish School District Superintendent Michael Doucet said. “And he was helping a weaker student, and the student says, ‘Well, that looks like a pistol!’ And he just made a comment [like] ‘let’s just get to work before I shoot you with a pistol.”
To some students, that meant that they were going to be the victims of the next mass shooting at an American high school, so they called the police. No criminal charges were filed, not even against the idiots.
