The popular APTN series “Blackstone” is beginning production on Season 3 while a new series called “Money Moron” will be debuting on Slice.
Prairie Dog Film + Television recently announced that work will start this weekend on the latest season of “Blackstone.” The show follows the Blackstone First Nation community and stars Carmen Moore (“Arctic Air”), Eric Schweig (“Cashing In”), Michelle Thrush (“Mixed Blessings”), Nathaniel Arcand (“Heartland”), Steven Cree Molison, Andrea Menard, Tantoo Cardinal, and Garry Chalk. New to Season 3 will be John Cassini (“Arrow,” “Intelligence”), Tinsel Korey (“Sanctuary,” “The Twilight Saga”), Cheri Maracle (“Moccasin Flats,” “Blackfly”), Bronson Pelletier (“Renegade Press,” “The Twilight Saga”), Wayne Baker (“Pathfinder,” “Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee”) and Dakota House (“The Horses of McBride,” “One Dead Indian”). The series won three nominations at this year’s Canadian Screen Awards and has already taken home a number of other accolades.
Meanwhile, on the Slice network, a new series called “Money Moron” is premiering next month. Financial expert Gail Vaz-Oxlade, host of the already popular Slice show “Til Debt Do Us Part” as well as “Princess,” will help couples who are suffering financial distress. Topics of RRSPs, reducing debt versus adding to your savings, when to use a line of credit, and top mistakes that people make with their money will all be discussed. The participants have a chance to win $10,000 in the process. It debuts on April 19th at 9pm.
