Brawl Breaks Out on Delta Airplane as New Mile-High Club Takes the Sex Out of Mid-Flight Blows

File this under trend of the year. More than TikTok pasta. More than celebrity tax shelters. This year is all about inflight fight clubs, with a 300 percent increase in incidents reported so far and fines totaling over $1 million. And the aggro trend is ruining one of the best things about flying – a shot at joining the coveted mile-high club.

Remember when mile-high clubs were all about sex? Not that any standard-size person could actually fit inside an airplane bathroom and get enough clearance to work their mojo. But the fantasy was at least something to daydream about on cross-country flights in a time before WiFi and personal screens could fill the gaping hole of airborne boredom.

But gone are the overly optimistic days of sky-high lovemaking with a stranger, replaced by the bitter cold reality of fight-making. As anger becomes the soup du jour, it seems the most impulsive sentiment is spilling out at every turn. The turbulence of crosswinds blown down by the turbulence of fragile human emotion in the face of impending doom.

Long story short, another fight broke out on an airplane. This time (like so many before) on a Delta flight from Atlanta to LA. And of course, the whole debacle which began for no good reason at all was captured on video to live eternally on the cloud. Check out the melee below:

It all started when German Montez placed something into his seatback pocket. Apparently, this perfectly normal maneuver was too much for the man sitting in front of him. When Curtis Maurice Clayton felt the injustice of his seat imperceptibly vibrating, he jumped from his upright position and began shouting at Montez before swinging on him. After faces were bloodied, another passenger helped restrain Clayton before police boarded and hauled him away.

Hilariously, the plane hadn’t even taken off yet. That’s how out of control things have gotten. We think the only solution to curb this rise of violence is to implement mandatory MDMA dosings for every passenger. Then we can get back to what air travel is all about – fulfilling the dream of the mile-high club.
