Meanwhile on Tinder: Woman Drafts 17-Page Relationship Contract For Boyfriend of 2 Weeks (But Will Likely Be Single Again Any Minute Now…)

People come into relationships with all sorts of expectations. If you’re lucky, your partner will just keep those (and their inevitable disappointment) to themselves. More likely, you’ll hear about how short you’ve fallen somewhere along the line – likely during a breakup. But one woman wanted to be very clear about what she wanted from her new boyfriend – so she laid it all out in a 17-page relationship contract.

That alone would be bad enough, but the kicker is that the couple, who met on Tinder, had only been dating for two weeks when she presented her man with the terms and conditions of their relationship. It covered four areas: honesty, communication, awareness of partner’s needs, and clarity and alignment in their intentions.

“I made the idea as a joke, then he said, ‘No, seriously. We can do that and talk about it,’” 21-year-old Annie Wright of Atlanta, Georgia, told Kennedy News. “We printed out terms and conditions, I went over to his place, we sat on either end of the bed and read them out loud.”

To be fair, her 23-year-old boyfriend is a law student, so contracts are second-nature to him.

“We treat our relationship almost like a business interaction,” Wright told the Sun. “We deal with conflict like partners in business would. We sit down and treat it more like we’re partners in life, and love is an added bonus.”

So what were her must-haves? No silent treatment, no isolation from loved ones, five workouts a week, that he pay for date nights, and that he make a romantic gesture once every two weeks. He got to include some stipulations of his own, like that she take off her shoes in his apartment.

This seemingly excessive tactic appears to be successful – the couple has been together for almost a year now. “This has been a game changer,” said Wright. “I’d recommend all couples have one. It’s the best thing ever.”
